To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued.
Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity. If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so.
We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request. To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum. The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500.
The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola). This is a large and very visible forum.

The only other place I've seen Vertex software is on some of the auction sites where it's on DVD. I don't know about that particular version, or revision.
At least on the Vertex site, it's always the latest Rev. I highly suggest going the Vertex route. Another possibility is The Antenna Farm. They will sell you the cable and give you the software with it.if they have that version. Now that's a long distance move!
I moved here from Upstate NY and lived here from 1995-2000 then moved to Connecticut. Just moved back down here two years ago.Tell your son to get prepared.they're predicting the possibility of up to a foot of snow here on Friday, and no one knows how to drive on that. Also the stores sell out of everything right before a predicted storm.Scott.
Sorry for the slow response.I never ended up finding the software, however I found a Manufacturer password that enabled one of the other versions of software to program the channel memories, but not the special functions.I wrote down how I did it somewhere on my computer, so I'll dig that up and post it here ASAP (Feel free to bump the thread if I forget.crazy busy here!)I also signed up to many different sites and contacted the admins seeing if they had access, so I might revisit there and see if they have it now that its been a little while. Will post back soon. Thanks guys for all your help.I've got it programming private frequencies now, but I can't seem to get the function buttons working. My software lists buttons like:P1, P2 etc and MIC-A, MIC-B etc.Setting any of them doesn't seem to work on the radio, and same with uploading - none of the options change after uploading settings from the radio.Similarly, when trying to restore to factory settings, the software says my radio files are 'corrupt'. I think I need a firmware reset and just start fresh. Does anyone have the firmware? Thanks.
